Who we are
We're Trudy and Damien. Two personal trainers who came to disability support because we believe a good life isn't something you get to have once everything else is sorted. It's the whole point.
We'll help with the daily stuff, without making you feel like a task on a list. And then we'll ask what you actually want to do this year, and we'll go and do it with you.

Support for daily living.
Your home, your routine, your way. Cooking, shopping, organising and the everyday running of things.

Community participation and connection.
Getting out. Meeting people. Finding the thing you're into, and finding others who are into it too.

Health, wellbeing and active living.
Good food, movement that suits you, and walking groups and small sessions out in the fresh air.

Building skills and independence.
Goals, confidence, communication, and support towards study, work or whatever you're interested in.

What makes us different
Plenty of support services will take you to a café. We can do that, but we'll take you hiking up a hill afterwards– if that's what you're after.
Our whole approach comes back to five things:
-
Good food, and knowing your way around a kitchen
-
Movement that suits you and gets easier
-
Time outdoors, properly outdoors
-
Community that knows your name
-
Goals you set yourself, and actually reach
We're not here to fill the hours. We're here because we think you're capable of more than you've been given room for, and we'd like to help you prove it.

The Grounded Living Passport
Every Grounded Living participant gets a Passport.
You choose what goes in it. A place you'd like to visit, something you'd like to learn, a distance you'd like to walk, a meal you'd like to cook, or anything else that matters to you. We write it in, we work towards it together at whatever pace suits, and when you get there, you get the stamp.

What others say...
[In their words]
"I've worked with Damien for 5 to 6 years… he has helped me a lot. Whenever i had a problem, he would do his best to help.
He is kind and caring as well, he would make sure if I was alright and if I needed any help. His a good person to be around over all"
